Graham Mackenzie

Graham Mackenzie is an award winning traditional Scottish fiddler, classical violinist and composer educated at the Royal Northern College of Music and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Violinist and fiddler, Graham Mackenzie, from Inverness, Scotland graduated in 2013 from the Royal Northern College of Music is completing a Masters Degree in Scottish Music at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland during 2015. Graham was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain performing in the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall. He was the inaugural winner of the Highland Young Musician of the Year and as the winner of the Celtic Instrumentalist at the International Eisteddfod in Llangollen, performed alongside Hayley Westenra.
Graham was twice a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award, a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year and runner up in the Glenfiddich Fiddle Championship. He was commissioned by 'Celtic Connections 2015' to write 'Crossing Borders', for the New Voices series for the festival, eleven years after becoming the youngest winner of a Danny Kyle Award.
